Electional Astrology: A to Z

Explore the magic and practical usefulness of electional astrology. One of the most ancient branches of astrology and a key element to astrological magic, electional astrology focuses on choosing most optimal beginnings for any important activity, such as marriages, business launches, financial and career events, buying and selling and so on.

In this workshop, students will learn foundational principles of classical electional astrology, which could be immediately applied to practice. This course assumes familiarity with astrological basics (such as planets, houses, and sign meanings), but no prior experience with elections is needed. This class is suitable for astrologers coming from all traditions of astrology.

Elena Lumen, PhD is a traditional astrologer, counselor, retired psychologist, and astrology instructor. Elena is faculty at the International Academy of Astrology, and principal of Lumen School of Classical Astrology, where she teaches horary, predictive and electional astrology.

In addition, Dr Lumen hosts ongoing astrology practice groups and frequently presents on the topics of classical astrology world wide. In 2011, she defended her dissertation on “The value and appeal of astrology as a system of meaning” at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in California. The results of her research were published in NCGR and ISAR magazines, and are available on her website.

Currently, Dr. Lumen is working on combining astrological insights, counseling, and energy healing in her individual work with clients. Her current research is on the works of Arabic and Persian astrologers, and practical application for consulting astrologers.
