IF THE UNIVERSE WERE TO PRINT A MESSAGE ACROSS THE SKY ASKING US TO HEAL THE WOUNDS OF LOVE IN THE WORLD, IT COULDN’T GET MUCH CLOSER THAN WHAT IT’S DOING ON VALENTINE’S DAY THIS YEAR.

On Feb. 14th, 2010, the sun conjoins the Neptune-Chiron conjunction in the sky. We often think of Neptune as the planet of illusions – which it certainly is – but we don’t always
remember it is also the planet of universal, unconditional love; the planet of unity, melting away the artificial barriers we construct to separate me vs. you, him vs. her, and most
important of all, the extremely divisive “us” vs. “them.”

The other big player in this event, Chiron, has gained the moniker, “the wounded healer,” but Lynda Hill came up with another description that rings true. She described the captured comet’s role as providing us with the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves.

In mythology, Chiron traveled the earth seeking a remedy for the immortal arrow wound that would not heal and that he had received while defending Hercules. In his search for relief from the pain he collected the lore of medicine which he shared with his accolytes.

Likewise, in seeking the indescribable beauty of oneness with the Universe, we search many caves and coves in our lifetimes, and collect many stories.

It is up to us to choose the ones with value over the ones that may give temporary solace but hold no truth. Like the belief that he is better than she, she is better than I, or we are better than “them.”

Chiron and Neptune have been dancing very close to each other recently. In the fixed air sign of Aquarius, they offer us the opportunity to take the experience of unity and to firmly plant it in the permanent records of humanity. A volume of planetary health we can only hope will become the most well- read book in mankind’s collective library.

On Valentine’s Day, the Sun, our solar hero, joins the dance to command our attention and focus all eyes on what can be gained. Stand up, speak out, take action, be accountable. This
is the day to remind ourselves that everyone is our soul’s lover. Our soulmate is not one individual; but rather the act of soul-mating is the ability to remove the blinders from our eyes and see that at essence we are all soul and thus all one.

Rejoice in the rediscovery of what unites us all and let’s make Cupid a very busy little guy this year!
